Sisters Living Works announces its 7th Annual World Suicide Prevention Day Conference to be held on 11th and 12th September 2021.

India is known to have one of the highest suicide rates in the world. Hence, it has become imperative to engage in suicide prevention education and raising awareness. The virtual conference this time will be an interesting mélange of eminent speakers, workshops and performances to raise awareness on suicide prevention.
The two-day session will focus on providing current, knowledge-based information and the impact of this information on the lives of individuals dealing with suicidal incidences or ideations and for those who have lost loved ones to suicide. The conference will facilitate an ongoing exchange of dialogue on issues related to suicide prevention and awareness by individuals with different experiences and viewpoints. It will also provide a space to nurture one’s mental well-being through art and music.
Moreover, we are organizing a series of competitions in August to encourage individuals to think, reflect and find a voice in their art, writing and vision. These competitions are:
1. Short Film Making Competition
2. Poster Making Competition
3. Creative Writing Competition
The entry is free for these competitions and last date to submit an entry is 30th August 2021. Three winning entries will receive a certificate. The winning short films and posters will be screened at the conference. Winners of creative writing will have a chance to read out an excerpt from their piece. We encourage everyone from any age group to participate with us.
